The Grand Sport is the open-top roadster version of the original 1,001 hp Veyron, unveiled in 2008 and limited to 150 units hand-built in Molsheim, with the first cars reserved for existing Bugatti customers. Converting the Veyron to an open top was a major engineering exercise: Bugatti reinforced the carbon-fibre monocoque, transmission tunnel, side skirts, B-pillars and doors to preserve rigidity and rollover protection, so the Grand Sport is far more than a Coupe with the roof removed.
