An original Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato costs $10M to $15M in 2026, about £7.5M to £11M, against a price of £5,470 when it was introduced in 1960. Only 19 originals were built between 1960 and 1963, against the 25 Aston Martin had planned. Everything on this page refers to those 19 cars. The later Sanction II, Sanction III and Continuation cars carry the same name and a fraction of the value, which is why anything advertised below $2M is almost never one of the originals.
Only 19 DB4 GT Zagatos are original 1960s cars. Aston Martin later approved four Sanction II cars, completed in 1991, and two Sanction III cars, completed around 2000. A further 19 DB4 GT Zagato Continuation cars were built by Aston Martin Works for the modern DBZ Centenary Collection, and unofficial recreations exist beyond all of those. The approved and Continuation cars are genuine and collectible, but they are not part of the original 19 and must never be added to their production count.
The gap in value is the reason it matters. A Sanction III sold for £1,079,000 in September 2025 and a 2020 Continuation for $1,270,000 in February 2026, while recreations have been advertised at £450,000 and £1.8M. None of those belongs in the range above. Some aggregators file the Sanction III as a 1960 car, which is how a roughly $1.46M result ends up misrepresented as an original. Check the chassis number and the factory build record before comparing any price.

A 1962 original sold for $9,529,000 including fees at RM Sotheby's in 2021. A competition-specification car with exceptional provenance, MP209, made about £10.08M at Bonhams in 2018, but that result should not be treated as a floor for every DB4 GT Zagato.
