The Koenigsegg Regera, whose name means “to reign” in Swedish, embodies the ambition of an independent manufacturer to push the boundaries of modern automotive. First unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015, the Regera was developed in parallel with the Agera RS models, then Jesko. The clear objective set by Christian von Koenigsegg was to offer a radical alternative to the traditional gearbox by introducing the Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) system, thus eliminating the need for gear shifting while ensuring a constant power flow.

Every component of the Regera is designed, manufactured, and assembled within the brand’s facilities in Sweden, in Ängelholm, offering a level of mastery rarely achieved in the industry.

Under its bodywork, the Koenigsegg Regera is equipped with a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in aluminum, designed in-house by Koenigsegg. This combustion engine is combined with three electric motors, all orchestrated by the Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) technology.

The combustion engine alone develops 1,100 horsepower (820 kW) when running on premium gasoline (91/95 octane), with 1,250 Nm of torque. The electric motors provide an additional power of 700 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, allowing immediate responsiveness thanks to the “torque fill” effect.

The entire system is powered by an 800V 4.5 kWh liquid-cooled battery, which ensures both propulsion functions and optimized energy management.

The Koenigsegg Regera delivers performance that pushes the limits of what’s possible for a road-legal car. Thanks to the combination of the twin-turbo V8 engine and the three electric motors, the combined power exceeds 1,500 horsepower, allowing blazing acceleration without any jolts due to the absence of a conventional gearbox.
0 to 100 km/h is achieved in under 2.8 seconds, while 0 to 200 km/h is reached in about 6.6 seconds. The 0 to 300 km/h sprint takes only 10.9 seconds, and the announced top speed exceeds 400 km/h (250 mph), although this may vary slightly depending on aerodynamic configuration.
