Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione for sale
It is rare that a Ferrari Daytona Competizione is offered for sale — especially when it is the 40th example ever produced, with a conversion signed by Scaglietti.

Painted in red and equipped with a strictly functional interior in the racing spirit, this 365 GTB/4 Daytona has covered a confidential number of kilometers. The vehicle is currently kept within the prestigious BINGO collection, and available only through private offer. It is an example converted according to the Competizione Group 4 specifications, with multiple elements modified to make it a competition-oriented machine, while retaining the character of the first production chassis.
Only a few Ferrari Daytona have been transformed into real racing machines — this one is part of that small circle, and its price perfectly reflects its rarity.”
History of thethe Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione – Chassis #12719
Presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1968, the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 was quickly nicknamed “Daytona” in tribute to the historic 1-2-3 finish achieved by Ferrari at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. It then embodied the last great front-engine coupe before the shift to mid-engine powertrains.
Chassis #12719 is one of the very first produced: it is the 40th road-going Daytona manufactured. First delivered in November 1969 to the official dealer Motor Sas di Carla Allegretti e C. in Rome, it was registered by its first owner, Ugo Roselli, under the plate Roma E76365. In 1971, the car changed registration (Roma H31155) and was resold sixteen days later.

The Daytona #12719 then passed through several private hands before being selected for a high-level transformation: a full Competizione Group 4 conversion, entrusted to Carrozzeria Scaglietti, now known as Bacchelli & Villa. This transformation includes a new body numbered #41, wider and more muscular, equipped with many racing-derived parts: widened fenders, competition wheels, specific headlights, sliding Plexiglas windows, quick-fill fuel cap, and roll cage.
This model eventually joined the prestigious BINGO collection, renowned for its rigorous selection of historic vehicles with very high heritage value.
Bodywork of thethe Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione
The bodywork of this Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione Conversion is dressed in a deep red, faithful to the Ferrari racing spirit of the 60s. The long hood, a stylistic signature of the Daytona, retains its imposing proportions while integrating the modifications specific to the Group 4 conversion.
The work carried out by Carrozzeria Scaglietti stands out through the addition of widened fenders allowing for the mounting of wider rims and competition-type tires. The front headlights are replaced by specific, lighter units designed for racing. Side windows in Plexiglas with sliding opening further accentuate the weight reduction and raw aesthetic.
The bumper has been removed, in the spirit of endurance cars of the time. At the rear, the lines are taut, without frills, and the body adjustments give this Daytona an aggressive and functional look, designed for performance.
Interior of thethe Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione – Chassis #12719
The cabin of this Ferrari Daytona Competizione Conversion adopts a configuration resolutely race-oriented. Comfort elements are gone: here, everything is designed for lightness and performance.
The bucket seats are covered in black fabric with red stitching, with reinforced lateral support. The dashboard retains its original structure but has been modified to accommodate additional gauges, manual switches, and elements specific to driving in competition conditions.
A full roll cage has been installed, an essential element for homologation in Group 4 category. The interior finish is minimalist: carpet removed, lightened door panels, raw finish on metallic surfaces.
This stripped-down cockpit evokes the atmosphere of period paddocks and plunges you directly into the world of 70s racing.
Engine of thethe car
Under the long front hood of this Ferrari Daytona Competizione Conversion lies a naturally aspirated 4.4-liter V12 engine (4,390 cm³), with a single overhead camshaft per cylinder bank. Fed by six twin-choke Weber carburetors, this V12 block develops approximately 352 horsepower at 7,500 rpm in its original version.

The Group 4 conversion may include specific adjustments to intake, exhaust, and ignition, allowing for slightly higher power depending on race configurations and usage. The sound of the Colombo V12, combined with a freer-flowing exhaust system, gives this Daytona a raw and direct mechanical experience.
Positioned longitudinally at the front, this engine remains an iconic testament to the pre-injection era at Ferrari, combining mechanical simplicity with high performance potential.
Performance of thethe Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione – Chassis #12719
The original Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona claimed a top speed of 280 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h achieved in 5.4 seconds. Thanks to its Competizione conversion, this example benefits from significant weight reduction and improved traction, which enhances its track capabilities.
The 5-speed manual gearbox, combined with a rigid chassis and a V12 full of torque at all revs, ensures immediate throttle response. The modifications made (wider wheels, reinforced brakes, roll cage) allow for optimized handling in intensive use.
This model thus approaches the performance of official Daytonas entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, although not factory homologated.
How many ‘Daytona‘Daytona Competizione’ were made?

Ferrari produced only 15 official examples of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione, divided into three series of 5 units between 1971 and 1973. These models, entered notably in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, benefited from direct factory support and specific race specifications.
In parallel, a limited number of private conversions were carried out on standard Daytona chassis, often with components or bodywork prepared by renowned workshops such as Carrozzeria Scaglietti. This type of conversion, like that of chassis #12719, remains extremely rare, with probably fewer than 20 examples completed worldwide to a comparable level of quality and compliance.
The combination of an early chassis number (#12719), documented history, and certified conversion makes this car particularly sought after.
