The Lexus LFA is not just a supercar; it's a technological showcase for Lexus. As early as 2004, camouflaged prototypes were spotted on the renowned Nürburgring Nordschleife, where Lexus was already testing this supercar's performance. Initially built on an aluminum platform, advancements in composite materials led to the decision to design the LFA using carbon fiber, making it lighter and more rigid.
The Japanese manufacturer didn’t hesitate to start from scratch to achieve perfection, despite astronomical development costs exceeding 90 billion yen (700 million dollars). This truly exemplifies Japanese precision. As a fun fact, my daily driver is a Lexus LC 500.
Lexus LFA «« Nürburgring Edition »
In 2011, the Nürburgring Edition set a production car record with a lap time of 7:14.64 on the Nürburgring. The LFA also enjoyed racing success, securing category victories at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
Lexus LFA -- Engine
Under the hood of the Lexus LFA lies a melodious 4.8-liter V10, developed in collaboration with Yamaha, producing 560 horsepower at 8,700 rpm. This engine, made from titanium and aluminum, delivers performance on par with modern supercars.
Lexus LFA -- Performance
In terms of performance, the Japanese supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds, and hits 300 km/h in 28 seconds. Its top speed is 326 km/h. The 6-speed automated manual gearbox also contributes to its performance, though some have criticized it for being relatively slow compared to today's standards.
Lexus LFA -- Spec
The Lexus LFA is built on a carbon fiber chassis, contributing to its relatively light weight of 1,480 kg. Its carbon-ceramic brakes ensure optimal braking power. As for the dimensions: it measures 4,505 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,220 mm in height, with an almost perfect weight distribution of 49.8% at the front and 50.2% at the rear. The drag coefficient (Cd) is 0.31.
Lexus LFA -- 500 units
Only 500 units of the Lexus LFA were produced between 2010 and 2012. This specific model is one of the 198 right-hand drive versions, and one of only two finished in Fresh Green, a rare color that makes it even more exclusive.
LExus LFA -- Interior
The interior of this Lexus LFA combines red and black Alcantara, a carbon fiber steering wheel, and a red Alcantara headliner. It features electrically adjustable and heated seats. The Mark Levinson sound system guarantees an exceptional audio experience, just like the legendary V10 engine, the best V10 of all time, yes, I stand by that, better than the Carrera GT's V10.

It is always sensational when a car company ignores profit margins and development costs with such a purity to their goal, and the resulting machines are always so discernibly imbued with the passion and sentiment of their creators. More so than in perhaps any other car, this philosophy is evident in the Lexus LFA
